How It Works

The 5-Step Model Behind PRASHANT

Designed so that any motivated community can run it — with structure, training and support at every step.

Identify Society Heads

We begin by identifying respected community leaders to promote and champion the program locally.

Train the Trainers

Trainers are equipped with the core concepts of the program so they can guide others confidently.

Mentor Selection

Community leaders select mentors from within — people who understand the context and the learners.

Orientation Meet

An orientation briefs mentors on the rationale and spirit of the campaign before they begin.

Mentors Training

Finally, mentors are trained on using the manual and on effective, compassionate teaching methods.

Why It Works

What Makes Project PRASHANT Unique

No Formal Classroom

Learning happens in homes, community spaces or workplaces — no building required.

Volunteer-Friendly Model

Volunteers with minimal training can confidently facilitate learning.

Self-Learning Worksheets

Simple, effective worksheets guide learners step by step.

Flexible Schedules

Learning fits around real, busy lives and daily routines.

Confidence-Building

Every step is designed to build self-belief, not just skills.

Scalable Intervention

A proven model that grows easily from one community to the next.

Lead To Literate — GD Goenka School

One of our most meaningful collaborations is with GD Goenka School, where students from Grades 9 to 12 were mobilised as literacy leaders under the Lead to Literate campaign.

Student volunteers were oriented, trained and supported to mentor learners from disadvantaged backgrounds — building empathy, responsibility, communication and leadership among the mentors while creating real educational outcomes for the learners they supported.
